Urban Gardening

On my way to the galleries at Seoul National University  I followed a trail through the forest.  This was the view of the city on the edge of the woods and soon after I started walking on the trail,  I discovered patches of spinach and mustard greens (spinach mulched with garlic stalks) and eventually stumbled upon a sprawling urban garden!  It was magnificent even in December,  evidence of the past seasons crops were still littered about,   dried pepper bushes, trellised bean vines and cucumber vines.  The creative use of recycled materials in urban gardens always triggers my imagination… thinking about the moment when a single person transforms the built in obsolescence of a product is really delightful.
